3Dsolve Inc. Awarded Contract with
US Naval Submarine Learning Center
Win is Latest for Fast-Growing Simulation
Learning Vendor
Cary, NC, December 6, 2004 3Dsolve
Inc., The Simulation Learning Company, announced today
that it has won a contract to develop simulation-based
courseware for the Submarine On-Board Training Department
(SOBT) of the US Naval Submarine Learning Center (SLC)
in Groton, Connecticut. The contract is another in a
string of successes for 3Dsolve, which has already announced
contract wins with the US Army Signal Corps and the
North Carolina Global TransPark during the last year.
Under the terms of the contract, 3Dsolve
will develop simulation-based e-learning materials to
instruct Los Angeles-class attack submarine personnel
in Force Protection and Anti-Terrorism (FP/AT) procedures
for in-port security. Using the laptop computers already
deployed on US submarines, students will be able to
review and practice critical security procedures while
still at sea. The simulations being developed will encompass
security procedures for both the exterior environment
around the submarine as well as the interior environment
of the submarine.
Were excited to be developing
courseware for the US Naval Submarine Learning Center,
said Richard Boyd, CEO of 3Dsolve. Building on
existing video-based courseware, the simulation-based
learning tools were developing will give the US
Navy a platform for training that is quickly adaptable
to new vessels, new ports, and new training requirements.
3Dsolve expects to deliver the final courseware
to SOBT and the SLC in the first half of 2005.
