3Dsolve and Discovery Machine Collaborate to Create Smarter Simulations
3Dsolve creates “flight simulators” for business

CARY, N.C. (October 5, 2006) — 3Dsolve Inc., The Simulation Learning Company, today announced that, working in partnership with Discovery Machine Inc., it has successfully completed a research project to combine an adaptive knowledge system engine with its business simulation e-learning platform. The resulting high-fidelity simulations will make for more powerful simulation learning solutions for both military and commercial customers.

“We designed our adaptive knowledge technology portfolio to specifically address the challenges associated with knowledge acquisition and its application to real-world problems,” said Todd Griffith, Discovery Machine’s founder and chief technical officer. “Our software and methodology are based on cognitive science principles that enable us to capture expert thought processes and automate them for applications in business intelligence, training, decision analytics and process management. 3Dsolve is always ahead of the curve in their thinking and we are very excited to be partnering with them on this project.”

3Dsolve’s business simulation e-learning platform is a new paradigm in advanced training and simulation. The offering provides a flexible solution that can be used as a progressive and cost-effective tool for training and educating workforces of any size in a wide variety of retail, warehouse and office environments. The platform, which is web-based and accessible via any computer on the Internet, provides customized e-learning environments for companies focused on increasing internal workforce knowledge bases and operating efficiencies. Each corporate solution is customized to help executive teams meet their short-term and long-term goals and objectives, and all activities are assessed and compiled into easy to understand reports so that management can continually review the results and make ongoing adjustments as needed.

“Combining Discovery Machine’s innovative adaptive learning system with our business simulation e-learning platform is a perfect fit and will significantly reduce the time and cost of our future high-fidelity simulation learning solutions,” said Richard Boyd, chief executive officer of 3Dsolve. “It is accepted today that pilots who spend time in flight simulators have a higher readiness level than pilots who only spend time in the cockpit. By combining our high-fidelity simulation environments with this level of artificial intelligence, we can now offer this capability to business enterprises around the world. Think of this as a flight simulator for your business.”
