3Dsolve Delivers Prototype of New Data
Visualization Tool to US Army TRADOC Futures Center
Co-Developed with Partner Lockheed Martin, Tool Points Way to Visualization of Complex Battlespace Architectures
Cary, NC, March 14, 2006 3Dsolve
Inc., The Simulation Learning Company, today announced
that, working with Lockheed Martin Information TechnologiesProfessional
Services (LMITPS), it has delivered a prototype
of a new type of data visualization tool to the Architecture
and Integration Management Directorate (AIMD), part
of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC)
Futures Center at Fort Monroe, Virginia. The tool, Operational
Views in 3D (OV3D), enables the rapid visualization
of existing architectural data, such as communications
networks in complex battlespace environments. Through
rapid visualization, this architectural data can then
be made comprehensible and useful to senior decision-makers.
For organizations such as AIMD that create,
analyze, and present architectural data, visualizing
is an ongoing challenge. Architectural data often tends
to be in the form of databases that can be difficult
to interpret without special training. This can make
it challenging to convey the meaning and importance
of such data to senior decision makers. The OV3D prototype
developed by 3Dsolve and LMITPS addresses these
challenges by accepting existing architectural data
in an open standard format and instantly displaying
it within a simulated 3D battlespace environment. In
the past, this task would normally be done by human
analysts, and could take days to perform.
We selected 3Dsolve for this project
based on our experience with their ability to rapidly
deliver innovative 3D applications, said Wolf
Kutter, Director, Lockheed Martin Information TechnologyProfessional
Services. 3Dsolve once again exceeded our expectations
by going from an initial customer kickoff meeting to
presentation of the final deliverable in only three
months. We look forward to working with the 3Dsolve
team to identify new opportunities and applications
for OV3D.
Were proud to have been selected
for yet another project by the team at Lockheed Martin
Information TechnologyProfessional Services,
said Richard Boyd, 3Dsolve CEO. Lockheed Martin
Information Technology is a recognized leader in developing
software tools for the next generation of military applications,
and collaborating with their outstanding team has once
again resulted in an innovative tool delivered on a
rapid schedule to a satisfied customer.
